A Message To the Newbies! We here at Madlogic Mysteries are very easy-going and likable, but we do get annoyed relatively easily and can kill a man with a staple. We are very serious about keeping our forums free of all the riff raff, so please consider your account a privilege as opposed to a right. Read the rules below, use common sense, and help make The TOMB the best paranormal discussion board on the internet!
General Conduct Possibly the best piece of advise we can offer a new user is to live by the Golden Rule. As a matter of fact, if you read no further, that piece of information should be your takeaway. the second best piece of advice would be to lurk before posting. Lurking in this context basically means to take a few minutes and look around the site and acclimate yourself to what is and isn't acceptable. We cannot stress this enough. Each board pretty much makes it clear from its name and description what is acceptable therein. Be sure you have the appropriate forum before posting. If there is no area dedicated to the topic you wish to discuss, use the General forum OR shoot an admin your suggestion for a new topic and maybe it''ll be created. Do NOT post porn or any questionable material anywhere here. Rule of Thumb: if you would be uncomfortable viewing whatever it is with your mother over your shoulder, then do not post it there. Also, do what you can to make sure your post isn't a re-post of an earlier one.
Before you post ask yourself the following question: "Am I making a post which adds to the topic, answers a question, is funny, informative, or interesting at all?" If you can answer "yes" to this, then post away. If you cannot, then don't. See...easy.
Before you reply ask yourself: "Does my reply offer any real value to the conversation, or contribute to the overall significance of the topic?" If you can answer "yes" to this, then please reply. If you cannot, then don't post.
The only people we really want to register accounts are those who really want to be here, will respect the rules, and want to be part of what we hope will be an online community of good friends and good discussions. We reserve the right to ban anybody, especially mimes, ventriloquists (yes, even Jeff Dunham), car salesmen, and people who point at their bare wrist when asking for the time.
Posting Rules
Worthless Posts: We do not care if you are drunk or high or sitting around naked eating Triscuits...so we don't need to be given that knowledge.
Forum Hacking: Don't mess with the forums. If you post a malicious link of any kind, you will be banned. Do not make plans to annoy/destroy the forums. On the off chance you do something that results in the forums or site being down, we'll see you in court. I fucking hate wearing ties, so I'll also be in a very foul mood about that.
Stay On Point: As mentioned towards the top, try to use the appropriate board for your post. This helps people find information they're looking for in a place they'd expect to find it...sounds logical enough, right?
Contain All Conflicts: There's no doubt that passionate disagreement will occasionally take the place of gentlemanly debates and discussions. Not everyone on the boards wants to be subjected to your mutual disagreement with whomever, so as soon as the "discussion" escalates into profanity-laced tirades it is to be moved to an appropriate forum (the one called "Flamewars," duh). In there, you can have at it consensually with whomever's pissing you off. Bear in mind that flamewars do not constitute harassment because of their mutual/consensual nature, so if you're in a flamewar, don't come crying "harassment" to us (unless someone's threatening your family, dog, Western civilization, etc.). Mods also have the right to end a flamewar if it's perceived to be getting/has gotten out of hand.
Respect the staff and other users: The moderators are here to keep the forums enjoyable and useful. If they ask you to do something, please do it. Do not harass or intentionally annoy the mods or insult other users. These rules aren't here to keep you from doing whatever you want, they're here to keep everyone having a consistently positive experience while visiting our site.
Harassment: If the line between flaming and harassment is crossed, try to discuss it with them over PM or email before contacting us about it. Remember: Flames and insults do not constitute harassment. Do not post others' personal information (phone number, addresses, emails, etc.). "I left your Mom's house this morning after LOTS of sex," not harassment. "I know where you live and am going to burn your house down as you sleep later," (and you feel they're serious), harassment.
Account Sharing: For every account, there is to be a single user. Account sharing is a bannable offense, so keep your password a big secret. Don't register fake accounts to make posts as a gimmick, being as this is not funny...plus we know your IP address. If caught, you're banned.
Madlogic's Law: This can be invoked at will by an admin...think of this rule as the TOMB equivalent of a disorderly conduct charge. If you willfully and/or knowingly cause inconvenience, annoyance or alarm to anyone else here, you're probably going to have problems. That also applies if it's repeatedly done recklessly or unknowingly. Don't try to outthink or circumvent some rule listed here. For the most part, these rules are as flexible as I want them to be, and if you're pissing me off by trying to get around them, you'll probably just catch a banning so we can all get on with life. Madlogic's Law is all about the TOMB reserving the right to ban anybody, at anytime for anything at our discretion for the betterment of everyone's experience. Think of the TOMB as an actual physical get-together; you don't want some ass running around being loud and obnoxious because the party would be better without them. As long as you're not the ass who shits in the punchbowl, you'll be ok.
Hate Speech: I'm all about free speech. Sometimes it even becomes necessary to curse to emphasize your fucking passion. Offensive terms such as "fa**ot" or "ni**er" may or may not be bannable based on context of the sentence. IF they were meant as humor with absolutely no offensive slurs meant, the user may not be banned or probated. But, if the slightest bit of hate or ethnic intimidation could be gleaned from it, you will almost certainly be banned. This rule is completely, 100% subjective and is based on the mod reading the post at the time. Use at your own peril.
Image / File Rules: Keep all images work-safe: If you feel the need to post any pornographic or disgusting images, post them in an email and email them to yourself. Absolutely do not post any illegal (child porn, bestiality) images or else you will be banned AND reported to the fuzz, 5-0, or whatever you kids call the police these days. If you're a female between the ages of about 20 and 50, and you need to know if you're hot or not, then please send pics to madlogicmysteries@gmail.com and we'll gladly reply with a rating. Other than that, do not post naked pictures of yourself or others. As a general rule, if you wouldn't be comfortable looking at the pic you want to post with your mother and boss standing behind you, don't post it.
Absolutely No Warez: No warez, no cracks, no CD codes, no illegal programs that are used to either crack software or perform any malicious activity.
Your signature file: Keep in mind that everybody on the forums has to see your signature over and over EVERY time you post. Please make your sig file under 1mb in size with less than three lines of text. Do not use images that are too small to see or ridiculously huge...400 pixels wide and 125 pixels high is about the max.
What If You Get Banned? If you break a minor rule and it's your first time, you'll probably just get a "Hey, dude...don't" speech...not a big deal at all. You could also have your posting ability suspended for a specified amount of time. If you break the rules again after having been put on this "probation," you're all the more likely to be jailed (temporarily banned). If you are jailed, then your name will appear on the Wall of Shame followed by the rule you broke. You may plead your case ONCE if you choose to, but if the appeal doesn't go you way, accept it. If you keep harassing the mods at that point, or try to register a new account, the temporary ban will become permanent. Once the jailing is over, you may again use your account.
If You Don't Agree With a Decision... If you would like to inquire about a particular mod's action, email us at madlogicmysteries@gmail.com. Be civil, explain your point, and (here's the biggie) give facts (not opinions) to back up your point. You may question any mod or admin you like as long as you are not rude about it. Heads of nations can meet and discuss treaties that impact the lives of millions and not be rude, so you can probably keep a cool head when discussing your TOMB account. Remember: rude = disrespect, and disrespect carries consequences.
Miscellaneous Annoyances Here are some general tips and posting pointers that the mods and admins do not like in general. We are including this list because, having run forums in the past, we know what can kill a board and we'd like to see this glorious bastard live.
-Basic grammar mistakes. Not knowing the difference between "your" and "you're" will get you made fun of. Not knowing the differences between "their," "there," and "they're" will also get you made fun of. -Horrible spelling (not counting typos, of course). It's 2018, odds are your damned toaster has spellcheck. You really should use it so you can communicate more precisely. -Excessive internet/text chat lingo. I understand that I can never erase the omnipresent "LOLs" or "OMFGs," from our culture, but use them sparingly for God's sake. Nothing sounds more annoyingly adolescent than a post like, "OMFG, my BFF sez she totally h8s that skaterboi. Me 2, do U?" Use complete sentences and use them often...this helps people realize what question or comment your post pertains to much more easily. -Amateur Modding/Armchair Admins. We have plenty of mods and admins so we've got it handled, thanks. -Slamming Madlogic Mysteries and/or the TOMB. I'm not just saying this because this bitch is mine and words sting, I'm saying it because if you don't like it here then why would you spend time posting here? -Speaking as though your opinions are fact. I don't care if you do this back and forth with other members of the TOMB community, but if you come to a mod or admin with an issue and you do this, don't be surprised if you're all but ignored. If you have an opinion, that's fine, everyone should, but we just want the facts of the issue/problem. It helps us solve them for you faster and lets us do it without being annoyed.
Contacting Mods/Admins If you have a question or concern about your experience(s) in the TOMB, please feel free to contact us. We joke a lot and have fun, but we really do care about this site and our users, and want to make this place as fun for you as possible. Reach us anytime at MadlogicMysteries@gmail.com Please allow us some time to reply (anywhere from a few minutes up to 24 hours) Please discuss your issue with us through email. Refrain from posting your disagreement on the forums, as they are usually private discussions which can only be answered by a single mod or admin.

Specific Account-Related Issues Same as above, shoot an email to MadlogicMysteries@gmail.com.
